ERT 2024 Benchmarking Report

A snapshot of the Europe's competitiveness at a critical time

Since the 1990’s, ERT has established a regular tempo of benchmarking Europe’s competitiveness as a place to do business, operate and invest, vis-à-vis its peers elsewhere in the world. Over the intervening years, geopolitics has rebounded to the fore and the digital and green transitions now underway demand regular progress updates, to ensure that Europe is keeping up.

In a few months, the European elections and subsequent appointment of a new European Commission will reveal the EU’s focus for the second half of this decade. In the immediacy, all eyes are on Professor Mario Draghi, in anticipation of his forthcoming report on Competitiveness, due in July, to how it might set the tone for the EU’s work programme.

This latest edition of our Benchmarking Report aims to be useful in this regard. Find out more by exploring the sections below.
