ERT joins industrial coalition calling for fast-track adoption of longer transition periods for CSRD and CS3D
ERT is part of a joint statement by a broad coalition of European and international industry associations, urging EU policymakers to swiftly adopt the proposed longer transition periods for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D).
✅ While fully supporting the objectives of both directives, the coalition highlights the need for realistic timelines to avoid legal uncertainty and disproportionate burdens on companies. The proposed adjustments in the European Commission’s Omnibus package offer a balanced and pragmatic path forward—allowing time for effective implementation, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and clear guidance.
⚠️ Without these extensions, there is a risk of inefficient investments, diminished competitiveness, and undermining the very aims of the directives.
In today’s challenging economic environment, legal clarity and workable compliance pathways are essential to ensure sustainability objectives can be met—without compromising growth or resilience.
