ERT urges support for crucial European Parliament vote on EU–US Turnberry Agreement next week
Brussels, 12 June 2026: The European Round Table for Industry (ERT) urges Members of the European Parliament to support the EU–US Turnberry Agreement in the plenary vote on 16 June.
The EU and the US together represent the world’s largest economic relationship, worth $9.8 trillion*, underpinning growth, innovation and millions of jobs on both sides of the Atlantic. In an environment of increasing geopolitical uncertainty and economic fragmentation, maintaining a stable transatlantic relationship is more important than ever. The Turnberry Agreement represents an important step towards de-escalating tariff tensions and restoring a minimum level of predictability for businesses.
Looking ahead, the priority must be to maximise the significant opportunities the transatlantic economic relationship offers for growth and prosperity for citizens and companies, including renewed efforts to remove trade barriers and strengthen competitiveness and economic security across the Atlantic. ERT stands ready to support policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic in advancing this objective.
