European business leaders urge for transatlantic dialogue on trade
Read the press statement
The European Round Table deeply regrets the decision of the US administration to impose new tariffs on European steel and aluminium manufacturers. These duties will not only damage world trade, they will disrupt supply chains and ultimately only create costs for industry and households.
Though we represent European-based companies, collectively we also support millions of American jobs directly and through our supply chains. We believe free and fair trade works to the benefit of citizens on both sides of the Atlantic.
We urge the US administration to reconsider this action, and to work to achieve a level playing field in trade through dialogue, not confrontation.
