Rafael Sotomayor President and CEO of NXP. He oversees the company’s global business lines, sales, manufacturing operations, China operations, research and development. As a member of NXP’s executive management team since 2020, Mr. Sotomayor has been instrumental in defining and implementing NXP’s strategy to be the leader in intelligent edge systems in automotive and industrial & IoT (IIoT).

Prior to being appointed President and CEO, Mr. Sotomayor was Executive Vice President and General Manager of NXP’s Secure Connected Edge business line. In this role, he was responsible for embedded compute leadership for edge processing and systems solutions for the IIoT market, in addition to solutions across the company’s security and connectivity ecosystems.

Mr. Sotomayor has 30 years of semiconductor industry experience. He joined NXP in 2014, holding a number of business line leadership roles across the company’s Mobile, Industrial and IoT segments.

Prior to joining NXP in 2014, Mr. Sotomayor was Vice President of Marketing at Broadcom in the wireless connectivity business, and prior to that, he served in leadership roles at Motorola and Intel.

Mr. Sotomayor holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MSEE from Georgia Tech and a BSEE from Purdue University.
