Finance & Tax Working Group

The Finance & Tax Working Group seeks to address matters specifically in the development of financial market regulations, as well as regulatory reporting and taxation issues. They engage with the European international institutions and governments to address key concerns and to make recommendations reflecting common views across the industry.

The financial crisis has impacted lending conditions (unevenly) across Europe, which may cause concern for SME suppliers and customers of ERT Member companies.

Financial market regulation has also led to a spill-over effect of financial reporting obligations for listed companies, beyond those active in the financial services industry. This increases the cost of capital, credit and may put a disproportionate burden on EU companies, if compared internationally.

The Finance & Tax Working Group anticipates, elaborates and advocates ERT positions on financial market regulations as they impact access to finances, the cost of capital and credit for the industry and ultimately Europe’s growth. It also engages in fact-based discussions concerning corporate taxation.
